Interior Alaska Activities
Located just south of the Far North/Nome region of the state, the Interior region of Alaska is completely land-locked. However, it is still a great place to visit, with a number excellent activities you can do during your travels in Interior Alaska.
- Interior Cities: There are main cities in Interior Alaska. Some of the most popular include Fairbanks, Nenana, Healy, and Tok.
- Denali National Park: One of the most popular sites in all of Alaska is the Denali national Park. Your RV will not be allowed in the park, but you can sign up for a guided tour to see wildlife up close and personal. You can also go hiking on Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in the United States.
- Biking: Cycling is a popular activity in Alaska, and there is no better place to enjoy a good bike ride than in the Interior, with its numerous trails. You can even sign up for a bike tour with Alaska Backcountry Bike Tours, which is located in Palmer, AK.
- Rail Tours: Want to get out of your RV for awhile? Take a day-long rail tour of the area. These rail tours allow you to see as much of the Interior region as possible all within a short time. Much of Alaska is not accessible by road, so you can take the train to remote areas that you'd otherwise not get to see.
- And a lot more!
