Nome, Alaska Campgrounds
(and other North Alaska locations)
The Far North of Alaska has some of the best places to stay, but since this region is so secluded, it is difficult to find campgrounds that are open all year. Many RV and Motorhome travelers choose to simply explore the southern part of this region for a few days, spending the nights either at rest stops along the highway or in traditional hotels. However, there are a couple of parks that you should definitely consider:
- Kobuk Valley National Park
Kotzebue, AK 99752
907-442-3890 Open year-round
No fees associated with park access, $5-$20 to stay overnight
- Noatak National Preserve
Kotzebue, AK 99752
907-442-3760 Open year-round
No fees associated with park access, $5-$20 to stay overnight
Looking for a traditional hotel in which to stay? Go ahead and treat yourself to a night away from the RV! It can be great to get out of your RV, if just for the night, and there are a number of reasonably priced hotels in the Far North region. Visit any city's tourism or recreational center, and you can pick up information about all hotels available in the area. Here are some of the best hotels in this region:
